Join the SSD Resistance
Fight back against Separate Sort and Delivery (SSD).
SSD will increase walking on routes by 22%, or up to 90 minutes of extra walking. It will increase injuries, increase long-term chronic ailments, and decrease quality of service. In the short-term it is meant to drive a wedge between union members, such as between RSMC members that are currently exempt from it and Letter Carriers who want RSMC members to join into one collective agreement. It is meant to further encourage the replacement of door-to-door service with CMBs, since SSD is designed with CMB routes in mind, not walking routes. The only way to fight back is to show a united front and tell the employer that we are not going to make their broken system work for them anymore. Join the Resistance to receive

Demands Ratification Votes
Stay involved and vote at every opportunity.
-
Program of Demands
Each Local sent their demands to Regional which then sent the demands to National. We voted in October to ratify National’s summary of those union contract demands. In the coming months we will vote again to accept or reject the deal that the bargaining teams have made with the Corporation.

Make a Plan to Vote
We will post any updates on the votes in the months to come. Be ready and make a plan to vote once you hear of a ratification vote.
These meetings are open to Saskatoon Local members in good standing (MIGS): anyone who has paid for their $5 union card (available at the polling location) and is not in arrears on their union dues. Contact the Local if you need to check your eligibility.
All members must sign in at the beginning of the meeting in order to receive their ballot. To sign in, you must have proof of membership in CUPW (membership card) or employment with Canada Post (paystub or ID), and government-issued photo ID.
Because all members must be able to make an informed vote, you must first attend an information session before the vote takes place. Once an information session starts, doors will be closed to late entries so it is crucial that you show up on time. The information session will take an hour at minimum. Votes take place following the information session.
Please note the separate meeting times for RSMC and Urban members.
